How Do Virtual Zoo Classes Work?
- Zoo staff and students meet in a video chat session.
- Connection is easy. Learners at home only need a computer or mobile device, audio and internet connection or cellular service. (a webcam and microphone are optional)
- Programs will be delivered through a secure platform. Zoo staff will deliver a live program and will answer questions from our virtual participants! Students may meet animal care staff, get unique views of our animals, participate in engaging activities and more.
- Zoom links will be sent 24-hours or less prior to program start time. Please check your spam or junk folders for this email.
Elephants in America - Ancient to Modern

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and the University of Nebraska State Museum-Morrill Hall have joined forces to bring you this one-day exciting virtual educational experience.
Ancient elephants walked to America’s Great Plains. Nebraska’s modern elephants came by air - and now they have babies! The prehistoric elephants went extinct. What is in store for their modern-day cousins? Join us as we compare and contrast ancient elephant fossil finds at Morrill Hall with modern day proboscideans (including their babies) living at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. We will take a deep look at elephant behavior, adaptive features, history, and conservation needs during this interactive discussion of colossal size!
This program will take place via Zoom. A link will be emailed to all participants approximately 12 to 24 hours prior to the event. One ticket purchased will allow one device into the program. If you wish to call in on multiple devices, you must purchase a ticket for each device.
Online registration for virtual classes closes 24-hours in advance. If you would like to register within the 24-hour deadline, please call (402) 738-2092 and we are happy to take your registration over the phone.

· $30 for Non-Members
· Fee includes call-in from one device. If you would like to call-in from another device, you must purchase additional tickets.
*An important note about your email and Zoom: the Zoom link will be emailed to the address you provided upon registration. We are not able to change this email address once registration is completed. Please make sure you are able to access this email account on the day of the virtual program. If you do not see a link emailed to you within 12-hours of the program, please call the number above after checking all spam folders. We are not able to trouble-shoot technical or connectivity issues. Please make sure Zoom is updated on your device. This program is non-refundable.
