Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium Announces New President and CEO

Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium announces Luis Padilla, DVM Dipl. ACZM, as its next President and CEO. Dr. Padilla will succeed Dennis Pate after his retirement in late 2022. Dr. Padilla is currently the Vice President of Animal Collections for the Saint Louis Zoo, where he is responsible for the overall oversight of the Saint Louis Zoo’s Animal Division, including the animal collection, facilities and the animal care teams. Omaha's Zoo and Aquarium Welcomes One Millionth Visitor of 2022

This year’s millionth visitor to walk through the redemption gates at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium was Jeanina Hunt of Papillion, Nebraska. Hunt, a Zoo and Aquarium member, entered the Zoo at about 10:50 a.m. today with her daughters Camila, 7, and Juliana, who turned 4 today. Lee G. Simmons Aviary at Zoo and Bird Exhibits at Wildlife Safari Park Reopen

Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium Mourns Loss of Giraffe

Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium sadly announces the death of Dottie, a female Giraffe, yesterday, May 31, 2022. She was 22 years, 8 months, and 19 days old. Dottie was the oldest giraffe currently living at Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium. Dottie was born on Sept. 13, 1999, and has been a resident of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium her whole life.
