It's a Boy! Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium Welcomes Second Elephant Calf This Month

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is thrilled to announce Claire, a 13-year-old African elephant, gave birth to a male calf at 9:08 p.m. yesterday, January 30, 2022. Mom and calf are doing well. Elephant Calf at Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium Has A Name

The female African elephant calf born at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has a name, Eugenia, which means “noble” or “well-born.” Eugenia received her name from the Grewcock Family, who won the naming rights at the Zoo’s fundraiser, Zoofari. Omaha Zoo Foundation Granted AmeriCorps VISTA Member Position for Volunteer & STEM at Wildlife Safari Park

This month, the Omaha Zoo Foundation was granted an AmeriCorps VISTA grant to provide an AmeriCorps VISTA member to begin service to strengthen and diversify the volunteer program at the Wildlife Safari Park by recruiting, training, and overseeing both youth and adult volunteers. Omaha's Zoo and Aquarium Welcomes First Elephant Calf

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is excited to announce Kiki, an 18-year-old African elephant, gave birth to a calf at 11:33 a.m. today. Mom and calf are doing well. The gender and weight of the calf are unknown at this time. The calf is the first elephant born at the Zoo. Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium Announces Final Gift of the 12 Days of Giving as a Present to the Community

For the final day of the 12 Days of Giving, Omaha's Zoo and Aquarium is giving the community the gift of free admission to children under the age of 12 beginning Sunday, December 26, through Friday, December 31, 2021.
