Zoo Prepares for Departure of Male African Elephant

Callee, a 22-year-old adult male African elephant, will soon join eight African elephants at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. Watson, an Interactive Animal Program Favorite, Announces Retirement from Omaha’s Zoo - Plus Holiday Fun at the Zoo -

Watson, a wire-haired terrier mix, who has been a favorite of the Interactive Animal Program (IAP) at Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium, will retire on Dec. 30, 2022. Watson retires after almost 10 years of service as an Animal Ambassador and leaving countless pawprints on the hearts of the community, Zoo volunteers and staff. Omaha Zoo Foundation Granted AmeriCorps VISTA Member Position for Volunteer & STEM at Wildlife Safari Park

This month, the Omaha Zoo Foundation was granted an AmeriCorps VISTA grant to provide an AmeriCorps VISTA member to begin service to strengthen and diversify the volunteer program at the Wildlife Safari Park by recruiting, training, and overseeing both youth and adult volunteers. Puma Cub Finds New Home With Help of 3 Nebraska Organizations

A male Puma cub now calls Riverside Discovery Center home. The male Puma cub was first found by Nebraska Game & Parks abandoned in Northeast Nebraska. Trail cameras showed that the cub was underweight and had been without a mother for an extended period of time. The cub was initially taken to Lee G.
