Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium Welcomes Elephant Calf

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is thrilled to announce the birth of a male elephant calf at 2:20 a.m. this morning, March 2, 2023. The mother is Lolly, an 11-year-old African elephant. Both Lolly and her calf are doing well.  This is the third African elephant calf born at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, joining half-siblings, Eugenia and Sonny, who were both born in January 2022. Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium Celebrates Eugenia’s and Sonny’s First Birthday

Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium invites the public to join us in celebrating Eugenia’s and Sonny’s first birthdays. The public birthday party for both one-year-old African elephant calves will be Saturday, January 21, at 10:30 a.m. in the Elephant Family Quarters. Omaha's Zoo and Aquarium Announces Fourth Year of 12 Days of Giving as Holiday Gift to Community

In celebration of the Holiday season, Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium announces the 12 Days of Giving. Visitors to the Zoo or the Zoo’s social media pages each day will be randomly selected to win the prize of the day beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 13, and continuing daily through Saturday, Dec. 24. Omaha's Zoo & Aquarium Announces Timed Ticketing to Visit Elephant Calves

Omaha’s Zoo and Aquarium is excited to announce that the Elephant Family Quarters will open each day between 10:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. beginning on Monday, February 14. Reservations can be made online for Monday starting Sunday. This will allow visitors to see Eugenia and Sonny, the first two African Elephant calves born at the Zoo. Elephant Calf at Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium Has A Name

The female African elephant calf born at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has a name, Eugenia, which means “noble” or “well-born.” Eugenia received her name from the Grewcock Family, who won the naming rights at the Zoo’s fundraiser, Zoofari.
