Wildlife Safari Park Opens Bison Overlook, Walking Trails and More

Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park in Ashland, Nebraska, is opening more areas for visitors today after being a drive-through experience only this season due to coronavirus. Reopening Fact Sheet

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium plans a phased reopening. Phase 1 includes no indoor access but allows outdoor guest usage with clearly defined guidelines for the health and safety of Zoo guests and staff. There will be timed ticketing to keep guest attendance at a capacity that allows adherence to the 6-foot social distancing recommendations. Zoo Announces Reopening Plan

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium plans to open its outdoor exhibits on Monday, June 1, 2020, after being closed to the public since March 16 due to the coronavirus crisis. The opening of the Zoo is planned as a one-way “walking safari,” including social distancing, and enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols based on health and safety guidelines provided by state and local authorities. Zoo Extends Closing Date Due to COVID-19

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is extending the date that it will be closed to the public through April 30, 2020. The decision was made based on the directions yesterday by Douglas County Health Department, and Nebraska’s publication of guidance on cancelling events and limiting the number of people in public gatherings. Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium Closes Due to COVID-19

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium will be closed to the public starting Monday, March 16, through the end of the month. The decision was made based on the announcement yesterday by Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts of the state’s first case of community spread and Nebraska’s publication of guidance on events and public gatherings.
