Celebrate World Elephant Day with Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and the University of Nebraska State Museum-Morrill Hall during this one-day exciting virtual educational experience.
Ancient elephants walked to America’s Great Plains. Nebraska’s modern elephants came by air - and now they have babies! The prehistoric elephants went extinct. What is in store for their modern-day cousins? Join us as we compare and contrast ancient elephant fossil finds at Morrill Hall with modern day proboscideans (including their babies) living at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. We will take a deep look at elephant behavior, adaptive features, history, and conservation needs during this interactive discussion of colossal size!
