Virtual Conservation Happy Hour

Saving Madagascar

Thursday, January 28th, 5:30-6:30 PM

Cartoon characters aside, Madagascar is the island of lemurs, chameleons, and breathtaking landscapes. Join the Zoo’s director of conservation genetics, Dr. Ed Louis, for a virtual look at one of the most endangered places on the planet, and get an up-close look at the Zoo’s resident lemurs during a virtual encounter with our Expedition Madagascar keepers.

Participants will learn how our conservation genetics team is working to conserve Madagascar’s flora and fauna by reintroducing lemurs and plants that only Dr. Seuss could dream of. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear exciting stories from a day in the life of a conservation geneticist, which includes discovering new species of lemurs, planting millions of trees, building tree houses, and flying drones.
