2013 School Admission Fees

School admission rate is given specifically to groups when student admission is being paid for by the school. Reservations are required in advance to receive school discount. One person must pay for the entire group to receive the school discount. Contact the Education Department at (402) 738-2092 or click here to make a reservation.

2013 Dinosaurs Alive! The Lost Valley

Zoo Hours:

November 1 through February 28: 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. daily. Buildings stay open until 5 p.m.

March 1 through October 31: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. Buildings stay open until 6 p.m.

Open year-round except for Christmas Day.

Exhibit Information:

The Lemur Walkway, located at Expedition Madagascar, is open for the season, weather permitting, on the following days:

  • May 17 - May 19: Friday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • May 24 - Sept. 2: Daily, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Sept. 6 - Oct. 31: Friday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

    The Red Barn Yard, located in Red Barn Park, is open for the season.

    The Budgie Encounter, located by Red Barn Park, is open for the season May 17 - November 1 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily.

    The Berniece Grewcock Butterfly and Insect Pavilion will be open from March 1 - October 31. The butterfly wing of the exhibit is open Monday - Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The insect wing is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

    All rides are weather dependent and will not operate if there is rain, snow, ice or if the temperature will not reach 50 degrees by 1 p.m. or will operate on a modified schedule if the temperature will be above 90 degrees by 1 p.m. Skyfari will not operate if there are high winds.

    You must be at least 12 years old to ride Skyfari without an adult. Children under the age of 12 will be required to ride with an adult.

    You must be at least 42 inches tall to ride Sue's Wildlife Carousel without an adult.

    Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is tobacco free.

    Single stroller: $8 per day
    Double strollers: $12 per day
    Wagons: $12 per day
    Electric shop riders: $22 per day*
    Manual wheelchairs and adult chairs: $8.00 per day 

    All rentals are available at the Main Entrance Gift Shop all year round or at the gazebo outside the North Gate Gift Shop from Memorial Day to Labor Day. All rentals are on a first-come-first-serve basis.

    *To rent an Electric shop rider, visitors must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver's license.
