The Geminids meteor shower, considered to be one of the most spectacular showers of the year, will peak on Thursday, December 13. Join Wildlife Safari Park from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. for unobstructed views from the prairie.
At the Geminids Meteor Shower Telescopes and Prairie Skies Star Party, guests will have the opportunity to learn about astronomy and discover what a meteor shower is with the Omaha Astronomical Society. Wildlife photographer Mike Benkis will teach guests best practices for photographing the night sky.
Telescopes will be available for viewing the night sky, however, guests are welcome to bring their own binoculars and portable telescopes. This is an outdoor event.
Registration is required for this ticketed event. Cost is $10 per person for Wildlife Safari Park members and $13 for non-members. Wildlife Safari Park admission is not included. Wildlife Safari Park is closed for the season.
