Second Beer in Zoo Brew Series to Focus on African Elephant Conservation

Zoo Plants Two Millionth Tree in Madagascar

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, in partnership with Madagascar Biodiversity Partnership (MBP), planted its two millionth tree in Madagascar today. Sea Lion Exhibit Next Step in Master Plan

Exciting things are happening at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium as it continues to move forward with the next phases of its master plan. Owen Coastal Shores, a new habitat for the Zoo’s sea lions is scheduled to open in spring 2020. The Omaha Zoo Railroad Celebrates its 50th Anniversary

The Omaha Zoo Railroad is celebrating its 50th anniversary today and Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium will be celebrating all week long.  The Railroad’s official Golden Spike dedication ceremony took place on July 23, 1968. Pygmy Hippo Calf Makes His Debut

A male pygmy hippopotamus calf, born on April 30, is now in its habitat in Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium’s Lied Jungle®.  The calf, named Silas by his keepers, can be seen in the exhibit’s African rainforest with the dam, Chomel, an 18-year-old from Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, Illinois. King Penguin Chick to Join Other Penguins in Scott Aquarium

A four month old King penguin chick will enter its habitat in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium for the first time tomorrow. The chick, whose sex is currently unknown, is extremely valuable to the North American King penguin population as it is the first offspring for two wild hatched birds.
