Holiday Happenings at the Zoo

Kickoff the holiday season by joining Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium for festive-filled encounters on December 1, 8 and 15. From 10:30 to 11 a.m. in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium, holiday helpers, such as elves and reindeer, will make a dive in the shark tunnel. Meet Sariah, a Female Malayan Tapir Calf

A female Malayan tapir calf, born on August 31, has been introduced to its habitat in Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium’s Lied Jungle®.  The calf, named Sariah, is the second calf for Malacca, dam, and Dumadi, sire, both six years old. Director of Animal Health Receives the Emil Dolensek Award

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium’s Director of Animal Health, Douglas Armstrong, DVM, was recently awarded with one of the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians’ (AAZV) highest honors, the Emil Dolensek Award. Members Invited to Free Monthly Keeper Connection Talks

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium invites its members to attend Keeper Connection, a free program featuring a Zoo employee speaker each month. Free Admission to Zoo and Wildlife Safari Park for Veterans on Veterans Day

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and Widlife Safari Park are pleased to offer free gate admission to all active military members, veterans and their immediate families on Veterans Day.  Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium will be open on Sunday, November 11 from 10 a.m. to  4 p.m.  Exhibit buildings close at 5 p.m. This is the ninth year that Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has honored veterans with free admission.  Wildlife Safari Park,... Winter Hours Begin November 1

Beginning November 1, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and Wildlife Safari Park will transition to winter hours.  Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium admission will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Buildings will stay open until 5 p.m. The Zoo is open year-round except Christmas Day.  Wildlife Safari Park will be transitioning to its end of season hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be open daily through November 4. Join Us For a Halloween-Themed Lake Cleanup Event!

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium invites the public to join them for a Halloween-themed lake cleanup event on Sunday, October 28 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Levi Carter Park at 4405 Carter Lake Shore Drive West. Costumes are encouraged at this citizen science event. Banana Slug String Band Coming to the Zoo

Registration is now open for the second conservation-based program in Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium’s Nancy Armitage Wildlife Lecture Series.
