Family Sleeping Bag Safaris

You don't have to travel half way across the world to take your family on an exotic vacation. Family sleeping bag safaris include a continental breakfast,snack and a visit from one of our Animal Ambassadors. Children must be 4 years of age and accompanied by an adult. Safaris are $37.00 per person (unless otherwise noted).  All sleeping bag safaris run 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Please click on links below check schedules.

Adult Only - Sleeping Bag Safaris

Join us for an overnight program where adult guests spend the night at the Zoo at our Safari Tent Camp site and get to experience our exhibits afterhours.  The program includes an evening gourmet dinner and drinks, evening hike, movie, snacks, breakfast, morning hike, and a free day at the Zoo.

Tents include one double cot or two single cots.  Each tent is 10' x 12' on spacious interior equipped with an electrical outlet, nightstand with lantern, area rug, dining table, two director chairs, and an oscillating fan.  Guests are asked to bring their own bedding and comfortable shoes for walking.

Cost $100.00

*Price per person. For adults 21 and over. Single campers pay a minimum two-person tent price. There is a maximum 2 person occupancy per tent.

Small Group Sleeping Bag Safaris

Small Group safaris are designed for schools, churches, boy scouts, girl scouts, or summer camps who cannot meet our 25 person large group safari minimum. Sleeping Bag Safaris are $37.00 per person (unless otherwise noted). All safaris run 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Large Group Sleeping Bag Safaris (25 or more participants)

Schools, churches, boy scouts, girl scouts, summer camps, families and more with a minimum of 25 people can reserve a sleeping bag safari date year round.

BlueCross Blue Shield





Through the generous support of BlueCross BlueShield of Nebraska, a *free overnight experience at Omaha’s Henry      Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is now available for select schools in Nebraska.  Free safaris are only available in the Education Classrooms, Durham Lodge, or the Wildlife Safari Park.
