L.I.O.N. (Learning Is Our Nature) Pounce Classes are for children ages 3 to 4.  Pre-registration and payment of $13.00 per child per session is required. Prices reflect the member discounted rate. One adult is required to attend with child (price includes child and one adult).

L.I.O.N. programs are an excellent way to nurture your child’s love for animals and nature.  During classes, teachers encourage children to investigate, play, and learn through hands-on activities.  Pre-registration and payment per child per session required. Cubs (Ages 3-4) - $13 (One adult is required to attend and is included in the program fee. Additional participants are $13.)

Pounce (Ages 5-6 & 7-9) - $16 (sign up for series-based classes and receive a discount)

Mane (Ages 10-12) - $20 (unless noted)

Pride (Ages 13-18) - $25 (unless noted)

Rise and Shine – Did you know some animals stay awake while we are sleeping at night?  Ever wonder why some animals run around early in the day, but then sleep the rest of the time?  Learn about animals that are early risers, night owls, or are somewhere in between.

October 20th or 21st               10:00-11:00a.m.

Getting Around – Walking is fine, but how else do animals get around?  Come learn about the different ways animals move from here to there.  Scoot, hop, fly, or run to this animal adventure!

November 10th or 11th           10:00-11:00a.m.

Cold Weather Animals – Brrr! How do you stay warm in winter? Animals have many ways to keep warm outside in the cold and snow. Some animals, including reindeer, grizzly bears and wolves, endure the most extreme winter weather.

January 19th or 20th                  10:00-11:00a.m.

Silly Old Bear Grab your favorite stuffed bear and bring it along to see some real bears in action!  We will learn all about the different kinds of bears you will meet here at the Zoo.

February 16th or 17th              10:00-11:00a.m.

Meet Under the Sea Ever wonder about the animals that live in water?  There is a whole world ready to explore right below the surface.  Come explore some of the animals that live in the mysterious aquatic areas of the world.
