Internship Program
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo Veterinary Internship is a one year post DVM training program designed to provide broad exposure to both the medical and surgical aspects of zoological medicine. The primary purpose of this internship is to encourage the participant to apply basic skills and knowledge acquired in veterinary school and clinical practice to the health care and case management of a zoological collection. In addition to clinical medicine, this position provides interaction and opportunities in herd health management and joint research with the reproductive physiology, genetics and nutrition departments as well as other zoological institutions.
