Callitrichid Colon Biopsy

Colitis is a major cause of poor health and early death in captive New World primates, especially tamarins and marmosets. Mucosal biopsies of the colon have been used in studies to determine the progress of this disease and the response to therapeutic interventions. This study evaluated the callitrichid population at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo for the prevalence of this problem.
