Toco Toucans Now on Display
  Two Toco Toucans - a 10-year-old female and a 12-year-old male - are now on display in the Amazon Exhibit of the Aquarium. These birds, also known as Common Toucans, are native to South America, primarily the countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru and Suriname.$0 $0 There are currently 66 Toco Toucans across 30 Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA)-certified institutions. In their 2009 Regional Collection Plan, the Piciformes Taxon Advisory Group designated this population for SSP management with a target population size of 100 birds.
