Your toes will be tappin' as Omaha Street Percussion performs music on recycled trash cans and buckets. Mothers, Muffins, Macaws (and Mimosas) - May 11, 2014
MacawsCelebrate Mother’s Day with brunch at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium on Sunday, May 11, 2014, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  Meet our resident Macaws while feasting on a brunch the whole family can enjoy.  Enjoy a scrumptious spread of delights that will make your Mother's Day a memorable one. After lunch, stay and explore the Zoo to see which of our residents are mothers, too. 

Member cost is $35 for adults and $30 for children (ages 3-11). Non-member cost is $40 for adults and $35 for children (ages 3-11). Children 2 and under are free. Reservations are required. Tickets are non-refundable. Event is rain or shine. All children must be accompanied by a paid adult.

Endangered Species Day - May 17, 2014
African Wild Dog Celebrate Endangered Species Day on Saturday, May 17, 2014, by visiting the endangered species who call Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium home. Endangered Species Day is an opportunity for people of all ages to learn about the endangered species at the Zoo. Look for the list and find these endangered species throughout the Zoo.  Can you find them all? The list will be available for download at the beginning of May 2014.

Participate in family friendly and educational activities that bring recognition to ocean conservation while allowing Zoo visitors to l  earn how their everyday actions impact the world’s oceans and inhabitants.

ZOOm - June 15 - 16, 2014
ZOOm How fast can a cheetah run? Put the pedal to the metal and ZOOm on over to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium Father’s Day weekend Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to find o ut. See new, classic, antique and environmentally friendly cars while exploring your favorite animal exhibits and learning about animal speeds. 

In addition to the car displays, ZOOm will feature Fast Action Motorsports Entertainment (F.A.M.E). There will be R/C Racing Tournaments with a first place trophy for the fastest driver, a Tire Change Challenge tournament complete with trophies and a Race Car Simulator. The addition of F.A.M.E will not only be popular with children but also with the “Big Boys”. The games are interactive, competitive and family friendly.

Moo at the Zoo - June 28 - 29, 2014
Moo at the ZooJoin Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium for a fun-filled country and agriculture themed event Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Moo at the Zoo from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Get up close to multiple breeds of dairy cow, savor some country cooking and join in the watermelon and pie eating contests.  Get your Moo on by playing carnival games and life-size checkers, as well as face painting, music and much more.

Event activities are free to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members or with regular paid Zoo admission. So bring your appetite and get ‘moo’ving to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.
Red, White and Zoo! - July 4 - 6, 2014
Red, White and Zoo! Celebrate Independence Day with the red, white and blue creatures of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium Friday, July 4, to Sunday, July 6, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Throughout the holiday weekend, Red, White & Zoo! visitors can "parade" through the Zoo on a self-guided tour in search of red, white and blue animals. How many can you find? There will be wild entertainment including bounce houses, face painting and special animal presentations for all ages.

Event activities are free to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members or with regular paid Zoo admission. 

Member Appreciation Days - July 30 and August 6, 2014
Member Appreciation Day Member Appreciation Days are fun-filled ways for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium to say thank you for the support throughout the year. Members with last names beginning with A-L can enjoy the fun activities on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. Members with last names beginning with M-Z can enjoy the fun activities on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m.


If you are unable to visit us on your designated date, please join us on the alternate date. A complete schedule of activities will be available on Monday, July 28, 2014.

Tour de Zoo - July 31, 2014
Critter Ride Bring your bike and ride during Tour de Zoo, a family fun event on Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. There will be dinner, snacks and refreshments plus special animal encounters during the fun-filled evening.  

If registered in time, guests will receive a FREE T-shirt. Cost is $20.00 per person for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members and $25.00 per person for non-members. Children 2 and under are free, do not require a registration and will not receive a t-shirt.  Reservations are required. Ride-in registrations are available but will not receive a T-shirt.

The bike ride is an open format with water stations throughout the Zoo.  Buildings are not open to ride through.  Helmets are encouraged but not required.

Join Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium Sunday, September 21, 2014, from noon to 5 p.m. for a fiesta the whole family can enjoy!  The annual celebration highlights Latin American culture via dance, a live mariachi band while entertaining the kids with face painting and more. Zoo Run - Sept. 28, 2014
Zoo Run

Lace up your shoes for the 34rd annual Zoo Run on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Check in begins at 8 a.m. This fun run is great for runners of all levels with the choice between a five-mile run and a one-mile run/walk.

Participants will receive bagels, bananas and free Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium admission on the day of the run. Plus, if registered in time, participants will receive a FREE T-shirt.

Cost is $25.00 for Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members and $30.00 for non-members. Children 2 and under are free, do not require a registration and will not receive a T-shirt.

Reservations are required and will be available August 2014.

Spooktacular - October 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 31 and Nov. 1, 2014

Bring your little ghouls and goblins to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium® for Spooktacular presented by Hy-Vee. Join in the fun on October 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 31 and November 1, 2014, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Purchase tickets in advance for $7 per person for Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium® members or $8 per person for non-members beginning in September online or at Guest Services. Children 2 and under are free. 

When the sun goes down, what happens at the Zoo? Visit the Lied Jungle® to see free-flying bats or stop by Kingdoms of the Night®  to see nocturnal animals during their daylight cycle. The evening includes admission to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium after-hours, trick-or-treating and fun activities. Get up close and person with different Animal Ambassadors, special animals used for educating visitors.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium's admission gates and exhibit buildings will close early on October 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 31 and November 1. Admission gates will close at 3:30 p.m. and exhibit buildings will close at 4:30 p.m. Zoo grounds will be cleared at 4:30 p.m. with re-admittance beginning at 5:30 p.m. for the event with a pre-purchased ticket.

Comedy Night - November 7, 2014
Join Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium for an evening of laughter as we host our second annual Comedy Night at the Zoo.  This event is for adults 21 and over and takes place Friday, November 7, 2014, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. inside the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium.  Admission cost is $50 per person and includes heavy hors d‘oeuvres, two free drink tickets to our cash bar, special animal encounters and performances by comedians.  With a cocktail in hand, it will be a night filled with laughs all around as guests are invited to take advantage of the beauty and serenity of the Scott Aquarium after-hours.

This event is for adults 21 and over (no infants or children, please). The program content may include explicit language and adult situations. Reservations are required and will be available September 2014. Tickets will not be available at the door. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges will be made.
Veteran's Recognition Day - November 11, 2014
Veteran's Recognition Day In honor of those who proudly served our nation, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium will be offering free gate admission to all veterans and their immediate families on Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2014. The free admission applies to active or retired Veterans and their immediate families.
Holiday Happenings - December 6, 13 and 20, 2014

Catch a glimpse of special holiday characters as they dive into the shark tunnel inside the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium on Saturdays, December 6, 13 and 20, 2014, at 10:45 a.m. Also, Zoo residents will be getting special enrichment gifts throughout the day. Event activities are free to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members or with regular paid Zoo admission.

Penguins and Pancakes - December 27-29, 2014

Join Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium for a formal affair – Penguins and Pancakes – on Saturday, December 27, to Monday, December 29, 2014, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. (no formal-wear required).  Enjoy pancakes from The Pancake Man, crafts and animal visits from the African penguins. Cost is $15.00 for Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium members, $20.00 for non-members, children 2 and under are free and includes a pancake breakfast, plush penguin toy and admission to the Zoo.

Tickets are non-refundable. Event is rain or shine. All children must be accompanied by a paid adult. Pre-registration is required and will be available December 2014.
